The Clean That Makes a Lawrence Renovation Feel Finished
Lawrence's housing is older than most of the northeast side, which means a lot of it is being remodeled. Kitchens pulled out of 1960s ranches, lower levels finished in split-levels, bathrooms retiled, sunrooms added, officer homes at the Fort rebuilt inside their brick shells, and new houses going up in Sunnyside and Winding Ridge. Every one of them ends the same way: the trades leave, and the house is covered in a film that comes back an hour after you wipe it.
Old-house dust is worse than new-house dust. Demolition in a ranch or a split-level brings down plaster, old drywall, sawdust from original trim and, often enough, decades of dust from behind the walls. It is finer and dirtier than what a new build produces, it stays airborne for days, and it settles into every horizontal surface at once.
The HVAC makes it worse. Return vents pull the dust in and the supply registers redistribute it through rooms nobody worked in. In a split-level that means a lower-level finish dusts the bedrooms upstairs. That is why a house can look clean the day the contractor leaves and gray again by the weekend.
Our Lawrence post-construction cleaning is a staged, multi-pass job. High surfaces first, then ledges, light fixtures, fan blades and register faces, then the interiors of new cabinetry and closets, then window frames, tracks and glass, then floors. Then a second pass over the surfaces that catch the settling dust.
We work after single-room remodels, lower-level finishes, additions, renovations of the historic homes at the Fort, and final cleans on new construction before closing. Contractors do a broom-clean and remove debris, which is a different job from making a finished house feel finished.

When Lawrence Projects Need a Final Clean
1After a Kitchen Remodel in an Older Ranch
New cabinetry arrives with sawdust inside every drawer box, and pulling the old kitchen leaves plaster dust everywhere the open floor plan reaches.
2After Finishing a Split-Level's Lower Level
The most common Lawrence project, and the one that dusts the entire house through the return air.
3Renovating an Officer Home at the Fort
Plaster, old trim and deep sills hold renovation dust far longer than new drywall does. It needs a room-by-room detail clean.
4Final Clean on a New Build in Sunnyside or Winding Ridge
Before closing or handover, so the buyer walks into a house that shows the way the finishes deserve.
5Between Phases of a Larger Project
If the work is staged, a clean at the end of each phase keeps dust out of the rooms you already finished.
Why Lawrence Homeowners and Builders Book Us
Multiple Passes Are the Whole Method
Fine dust keeps settling after the first clean. A single pass looks great on day one and gray on day three.
New Cabinetry Cleaned Inside
Drawer boxes, cabinet interiors, closet shelving and pantry shelves are cleaned before anything gets loaded into them.
Careful on Old Finishes and Brand-New Ones
Original hardwood and plaster next to fresh quartz, tile and painted trim. We use products that will not haze, etch or mark either.
Vetted, Insured Cleaners
Every cleaner is background checked and we carry full liability coverage on an active jobsite or a finished handover.

Post-Construction Cleaning in Lawrence: Common Questions
Post-construction cleaning generally runs $180 - $800+. A single bathroom remodel sits near the bottom, while a whole-house renovation of an officer home at the Fort, or a new-build final clean, runs toward the top.
Yes. Contractors sweep and haul debris. Fine dust on ledges, registers, trim, glass and inside new cabinetry is a detail clean, and it is not part of a standard construction contract.
For a small remodel, usually. After a lower-level finish, a whole-house project or demolition in an older house, most Lawrence clients book a second pass about a week later once the airborne dust has finished settling.
We clean register and return faces and vacuum what is reachable behind them. Full duct cleaning is a separate trade, and after a big project in an older house it is worth asking about.
Yes. New-build final cleans before handover are a regular booking for us in Sunnyside, Winding Ridge and the newer streets around Oaklandon.
Once the trades are finished and before furniture, window treatments or anything soft comes in. Textiles hold construction dust and are much harder to recover than hard surfaces.
