The Clean That Makes an Anderson Renovation Feel Finished

Anderson renovates because it has to. So much of the city's housing dates from the 1900s to the 1950s that kitchen and bath remodels, basement finishes in North Anderson ranches, plaster repair and hardwood refinishing around Downtown Anderson and West 8th Street, and full rehabs on rentals that landlords are bringing back are a constant. Every one of them ends the same way: the trades leave, and the house is covered in a film that comes back an hour after you wipe it.

Drywall and plaster dust behave differently than household dust. They are far finer, they stay airborne for days, and they settle onto every horizontal surface at once. In an older house with radiators, picture rails, built-ins and a lot of trim, there are far more of those surfaces than in a new build.

The HVAC makes it worse. Return vents pull the dust in and the supply registers redistribute it through rooms nobody worked in. That is why a house can look clean the day the contractor leaves and gray again by the weekend.

Our Anderson post-construction cleaning is a staged, multi-pass job. High surfaces first, then ledges, light fixtures, fan blades, radiators and register faces, then the interiors of new cabinetry and closets, then window frames, tracks and glass, then floors. Then a second pass over the surfaces that catch the settling dust.

We work after single-room remodels, basement finishes, floor refinishing, rental rehabs, and final cleans before a sale or a new lease. Contractors do a broom-clean and remove debris, which is a different job from making a finished house feel finished.

When Anderson Projects Need a Final Clean

1After a Kitchen or Bath Remodel

The most common Anderson project. New cabinetry arrives with sawdust inside every drawer box, and tile work leaves grout haze on the new surfaces.

2After a Basement Finish

Finishing the basement of a North Anderson ranch dusts the entire house through the return air.

3After Hardwood Refinishing or Plaster Repair

Sanding an old floor or skim-coating plaster puts the finest dust of all into every room of the house.

4Rental Rehab Before a New Lease

Landlords bringing an older unit back before the next tenant need it to show clean, not just repaired.

5Between Phases of a Larger Project

If the work is staged, a clean at the end of each phase keeps dust out of the rooms you already finished.

Why Anderson Homeowners and Landlords Book Us

Multiple Passes Are the Whole Method

Fine dust keeps settling after the first clean. A single pass looks great on day one and gray on day three.

New Cabinetry Cleaned Inside

Drawer boxes, cabinet interiors, closet shelving and pantry shelves are cleaned before anything gets loaded into them.

Careful on New Finishes and Old Ones

Fresh tile, refinished hardwood and new paint sit next to original plaster and enamel. We use products that will not haze, etch or mark either.

Vetted, Insured Cleaners

Every cleaner is background checked and we carry full liability coverage on an active jobsite or a finished handover.

What Our Customers Say

We had the hardwood refinished downstairs and somehow the dust ended up in the upstairs bedrooms. They cleaned the whole house, not just the project, which is what it needed.

H

Horace F.

Anderson, IN

New kitchen in a 1940s house. Every drawer box had sawdust in it. They did all of them before we loaded anything back in.

W

Wilma W.

Anderson, IN

The second pass a week later is what sold me. The first clean looked perfect and then the dust kept coming. They came back and finished the job properly.

O

Otto T.

Anderson, IN

Grout haze on brand new tile in the bath. I thought we would have to live with it. They cleared it without touching the finish.

G

Gail N.

Anderson, IN

Rehabbed a rental near the university and used them for the final clean before showing it. Leased on the first weekend. Will be calling for the next one.

Post-Construction Cleaning in Anderson: Common Questions

Post-construction cleaning generally runs $180 - $800+. A single bath remodel sits near the bottom, while a full rehab of an older house or a basement finish plus a whole-house dust cleanup runs toward the top.

Yes. Contractors sweep and haul debris. Fine drywall and plaster dust on radiators, trim, registers, glass and inside new cabinetry is a detail clean, and it is not part of a standard construction contract.

For a small remodel, usually. After a basement finish, a floor refinish or a whole-house rehab, most Anderson clients book a second pass about a week later once the airborne dust has finished settling.

We clean register and return faces and vacuum what is reachable behind them. Full duct cleaning is a separate trade, and after a big project in an older house it is worth asking about.

Yes. Landlords across Anderson and near Anderson University book us after a rehab so the unit shows the way the work deserves.

Once the trades are finished and before furniture, window treatments or anything soft comes in. Textiles hold construction dust and are much harder to recover than hard surfaces.
